2017. Colombia. Somewhere in Medellin.
Journey back to 2017, where the vibrant streets of Colombia became the journey for an unexpected turn of events. A seemingly friendly gathering outside a popular after hour club turned into a drugged escapade orchestrated by a Colombian gang.
And yes, there was an element of naivety on our part – inviting strangers into our apartment… Little did we know, this group of seemingly friendly individuals was, in fact, a gang with a planned coup.
In the aftermath of this unfortunate incident, we found ourselves not only shaken (We slept 24h due to valium in our drinks put by the gang), but robbed of our possessions.
Virtually everything electronic – besides my laptop for some reason – from phones to cameras, was gone, along with non-electronic items like credit cards, cash, watches, and jewelry. You won’t believe it but they even took the milk in the fridge (seriously) and my damn hair dryer (wtf?).
But instead of “going home”, however this experience sowed the seeds for a new chapter – working holiday Australia!
By the way that’s the reason in the first place why I started this travel blog. In the beginning the blog was more about Australia and doing working holiday there.

It happened because I was so broke after that incident that I had to leave Colombia to Australia starting from scratch and recover all the things I lost and get out of debt.
