I will show you all countries and currencies supported for exchanging and transferring money, which are 50+ at the moment. Likewise, I will do a cost comparison with their toughest competitor, currencyfair – another popular option for working holiday makers in Australia and worldwide.

Let’s dive right into it!

>>Open an TranserWise account right now*

Once you register with Wise (which is also for free of course) you can open up to 4 bank account in just a few clicks. If you are on your working holiday you want to open an Australian bank account, so you don’t even need a “real” Australian bank account if you don’t want to. Although I highly recommend to open up a bank account anyway.

If you are a nomad and earning some money while freelancing, you want to open all bank accounts so that you can receive, e.g., US-Dollars if your customer lives in the States, for example.

After registration, just click on “Open a balance” to open a balance account and follow the instructions!

Case Study Cost comparison Wise with currencyfair

I will do a quick comparison for you.
Let’s try covert 1000 AUD (Australian Dollar) at the same date and time into EUR in Wise and currencyfair.

As you can see down below, not only you will get more EURO for your Australian Dollar (610.91 € VS 608.10 €) due to better exchange rate, you will also get this exchange rate for 12 hours guaranteed (in this case) VS a fluctuating rate in currencyfair. You will also receive it faster (20th VS 25th of November) and can even compare the price before continuing with your transaction (transparent!)
